Ruth Ayres hosts a weekly celebration on her blog.
1. Cats love books too. Whenever I bring a new bag home from the library, Frances and Abby both investigate, sniff, flop, and rub.
And then this happens:
2. We got some excellent fortunes in our fortune cookies this week–absolutely spot on fortunes.
This was mine:
This is my older son’s:
My younger son’s:
3. We finally had some spring weather! I read a wonderful book on the porch with a little canine company:
Now I want every book to be written by Cynthia Lord.
4. I have been enjoying my son’s color combinations. Let’s just say he is not afraid of a little color:
Especially if one of those colors is hot pink. When I asked if I could take photos of his legs for my blog post, he asked if everybody on the Internet would see them. Everybody, I promised. “What if they think I’m a girl?” So I also promised to make sure everyone on the Internet knows that he is not a girl. (Also, look carefully for a Frances sighting between his knees!)
5. Tomorrow it’s supposed to snow, but today, this is blooming:
What are you celebrating this week?
I love these fun moments to celebrate. Your son is certainly not afraid of color! How nice that you were able to get outside to read! I am looking forward to getting my hands on that Cynthia Lord book soon. Have a great week!
The new Cynthia Lord is definitely a must-read! I love the weekly Celebration post because it reminds me to look for the positive things!
What a great list of celebrations! My favorite may be the sly sighting of Frances in the picture of the backs of the pink socks and lime green shoes–a mini-cameo of Little Baby, if you will.
How weird that y’all’s fortunes are so right on.
Little Baby isn’t really that photogenic, but that doesn’t stop me from taking her picture all the time. I didn’t even pose the pink socks and cat, though!
Your cats are so cute! I never get such wonderful fortunes in my fortune cookies. Cynthia Lord is truly amazing isn’t she? Such a story teller. Bummer about the snow, maybe the forecast will change?
Thanks, Gigi: snow forecast turned out to be wrong. No snow! Chilly day, but I don’t think the daffodils mind that too much. Now I just need Cynthia Lord to write faster!
Your son is not afraid to make a statement! LOVE!! My son would love the shoes. Hope you are enjoying Half a Chance!
He was very disappointed when he got to America and discovered that boys don’t wear a lot of pink. He went through a phase of not wearing it either, but then decided he was going to do what he liked. And now he has started a mini-craze for hot pink in our little corner of South Dakota. Cracks me up to go to sports events in town and find other 5th-grade boys also sporting hot pink knee socks. He also loves the month of October, when the NFL supports Breast Cancer Awareness with lots of pink gear. And I loved Half a Chance–so good!
