Hello March, Let’s Check In!: Slice of Life 4/31 #sol20

Just as I was beginning to despair that I’ve already tried (more than once!) all the fun slicing formats, I found a new one. Thanks, Angela Faulhaber, for sharing Hello March, Let’s Check In!

The highlight last month was a road trip to visit two of my closest friends. Traveling alone means as many local coffee shops, art museums, and bookstores as I can stand! I haven’t invested much time in friendships over the past ten years or so, but the hours of good conversation I shared with my friends showed me it’s time to make a change.

This month, I want to feel calm and composed. I have more on my plate than ever this March, and I hope to manage my schedule and to-do lists without feeling rushed or frantic. (Or having an anxiety attack.)

I’ll be over the moon by April if my house is clean and some lingering house projects have been completed.

One thing I’ll regret not doing in March is writing and practicing yoga daily. I have two 31-day challenges going, and each requires at least 30 minutes a day to complete. To be honest, it’s pretty rare that I can write a slice in 30 minutes. It often takes 30 minutes just to find a topic! As long as I wake up early enough, though, I feel confident that I can complete both challenges and suffer no regrets.

I want to give myself more permission to get outside and enjoy nature. I used to hike in Wind Cave National Park a few times a month, but I haven’t been since August. I’d like to prioritize more outdoor time, because I know what a difference it makes for my well-being.

If I get stuck, I’ll remember that a little bit each day eventually accomplishes the goal.

I like this post! If “I get stuck, I’ll remember that a little bit each day eventually accomplishes the goal.” is a great thought to keep in mind.

Every little step moves us forward. I sometimes look ar our monthly calendar and become overwhelmed by all of the filled in dates. That is when it is time to just breathe and take it one day at a time.

This is a new format I’ve not tried. I’ll definitely use it either as a slice or a notebook page. I bet hiking in Wind River yields some lovely writing, too. Yoga is a gift we give ourselves, but I’ll always be a beginner. I’d love to read more about your road trip. I have one w/ two friends planned for this summer.

Love the format! Some days it is just so hard to find the words or topic, this will make it easier. Thanks for trying it out.

A road trip full of coffee shops, art museums and bookstores sounds delightful – as does 30 minutes of yoga each day. Maybe that can be my April challenge ’cause my March is full!

Oh, I’ll have to remember this type of post if I get stuck! Thanks for sharing it! I especially like this line, “I want to give myself more permission to get outside and enjoy nature.” We all need to do that! Good luck and thanks, again!

Wow, a writing AND yoga challenge! That is impressive. Best wishes to you on all fronts. I agree that 30 minute slices just don’t happen, but they are a worthy goal.

Whether I use this to slice or not, I love the idea of this check in to get me on the right path each month.

What a great format for a post! I think I’m going to be trying something like this in the future!

Such a nice format; lets you reflect and readers learn about your life. I’m hoping you do get outside. That is something we all don’t do enough of. Even in my warmer climate, I don’t take advantage of the beauty right outside my window.

This is a cool format! Going outside more is a great idea too. We are coming out of the rainiest part of winter and having some days that at least approximate spring enough that I feel like I should get moving once again.
