Secret to avoiding Sunday scaries? Rest.
No errands, no events, no chores.
Nothing busy, nothing productive, nothing required.
Read, write, stare off into space.
Hold cats, admire cats, drink tea.
The day unfurls, full of possibility.

My theme for Slice of Life 2022 is finding inspiration in the writing of others. Each day I plan to find my slice in someone else’s words or forms. Today, I’m borrowing Denise Krebs’s idea of stringing six-word lines together to tell the story of a day.

You have such a lovely day ahead of you. I can always feel my stress ratchet up as Sunday moves along. I’ll try to remember the calm of your slice when that happens. Also, I love the word “unfurl” — it’s perfect here!
What a wonderful way to spend Sunday. Enjoy your time.
So much possibility! I love this, the cadence and the words. I feel like your Sunday is my Saturday…I hope everyone is able to find a day or at least a part of the day to find this much needed rest.
Sounds like a blissful day! Enjoy!
Your Sunday sounds wonderful. Enjoy it! It’s amazing how much six words can reveal.
Such a sigh of relief to just not HAVE to do anything today! Enjoy it!
Spending extra time with kitties is always a treat.
So peaceful. Perfect for Sunday.
This is the perfect way to spend a Sunday. Let go of the hecticness of the past week and don’t think about the craziness of the upcoming week. Take a day just for yourself.
Sounds like a great day! As a society, I don’t think that we honor rest enough!
Thank you for sharing another awesome format. This posts speaks volumes. Wishing you a wonderful Sunday.
This is exactly how Sundays should go. I’ve managed a bit of reading and coffee. Now for tea and a slice!
Yes, let the day unfurl.
What I notice about this is how I didn’t notice at first that these were all six words. I find the six word memoir fascinating when it is stacked together like this because it really shows the importance of syllabification, emphasis and punctuation. Cool.
I love this post! The form and the substance are wonderful. It feels peaceful, and what is better than holding and admiring the cats.
Your Sundays sound lovely. Ours are still quite the opposite!
No errands, no events, no chores. That is my favorite line! What a wonderful Sunday your series of 6 lines describe.
Elisabeth, you have so many lovely restful activities at your fingertips on this Sunday. I love the closing:
“The day unfurls, full of possibility.”
I’m glad my previous post provided inspiration!
