Fibonacci 2/30 #npm23

I
sip
morning
coffee so
slowly, now lukewarm
before it can work its magic.

***********

Today’s poem was inspired by the Weekend Coffee Share prompt at Ethical ELA and by Susan Kennedy’s Fibonacci poem. Susan also shares a wonderful resource with more information about this poetic form. Weekend Coffee Share is a structure I first learned about from Tammy Evans, whose blog is full of invitations to write.

This month, I’m writing a daily poem by following the collaborative poetry calendar generously shared by Margaret and Molly.

Yay for Fibs! Do you have the book Two Truths and a Fib that Bridget Magee published? A number of Po-Fri folks are in there. I’m excited that you are writing with me and Molly. I have a fib waiting in the wings. Today I felt inspired by Joni Mitchell. My coffee works its magic slowly then I write. But I never focus before the first sip.

I love fib poems! I am not a coffee drinker, but if I were, I think I would be a slow sipper too!

What a fun way to combine poetry with the weekend coffee share!
