This Photo Wants to Be a Haiku 12/30 #npm30

Pickles has a relentless play drive. He exhausts all eight of his cat friends each day (well, the ones who will play with him) and then wears the people out crying, climbing, clawing, and biting for more. Occasionally, he does manage to occupy himself, and even though it sometimes leads to a mess, the people are grateful for a moment of reprieve.

You know I love any poem or prose starring your cats, especially Pickles. I love the juxtaposition of Pickles with his toy fish and the intro photo of the real fish. ‘Hunt interrupted’ is the perfect final line.

I love the look on his face in this photo. Apparently he was fishing in the water bowl again this morning, so he has a new interest when he can’t get any of his friends to play.
