Today I’m playing along with a prompt from Ethical ELA to write about your dedicated “space to look and think,” a phrase borrowed from Sandra Cisneros’s introduction to House on Mango Street.

This Space to Look and Think
Curiosities: antlers, driftwood, stone
A wooden bowl, a hand-woven basket
A cat or six
Beds, blankets, toys, trees of the cat variety
Letters read and unwritten
Notebooks: spiral, hard-bound, soft cover, lined, unlined, dotted
Wonder Woman, a yarn rabbit
An empty coffee mug
Books: shelved, stacked, stuffed, spilled

For my National Poetry Project, I’m playing along with the poetry calendar created by Margaret and Molly.
